Saskatchewan offers a combination of tax credit incentives, state-of-the-art production studios, experienced producers, skilled production crew and comprehensive locations services. The Saskatchewan Film Employment Tax Credit is among the most competitive and comprehensive tax credit programs in the world offering a tax credit of up to 55% of eligible labour per project. The 45% base tax credit includes above-the-line and below-the-line Saskatchewan and deemed labour. An additional 5% is achieved by filming a portion of a project 25 miles outside of Saskatchewan’s major centers and a further 5% is achieved by hiring Saskatchewan production crew in 6/10 positions specified by the program. Out-of-province mentors may be deemed as local labour when no Saskatchewan resident is available or when the mentor is hired specifically to train a Saskatchewan resident in addition to his or her regular duties. The Canada Saskatchewan Production Studios contain four stages of varying sizes totaling 30,475 square feet, unencumbered 40 foot ceiling heights, fully-furnished production offices and a complete array of support facilities and services including wardrobe, carpentry, paint, makeup/hair and dressing rooms.
