The Second Annual South Dakota Film Festival is set for September 19-21 in Aberdeen and now accepting submissions. Last year the event was a smash hit with 35 different films shown from around the United States and a few from overseas. Submissions are being accepted on a regional, national, and international level with a focus on films made in, or by filmmakers from, the Great Plains (S.D., Minn., N.D., Iowa, Wyo., and Neb.). They are, however, accepting films shot in other regions as long as the films have what it takes to be one of the best. The festival films are screened in the following categories: narrative, documentary and animation. The categories can be short or feature length films. All of the films chosen will be viewable by the public during the festivals three day run. The South Dakota Film Festival will end with an awards ceremony followed by an after-glow party. If you would like additional information on the South Dakota Film Festival including: forms for online submissions, rules and guidelines and ticket information, give Tom Black a call at (605) 216-6650, or visit www.southdakotafilmfest.org. The Festival is collaboration between the Aberdeen Film Society and the Aberdeen Community Theater. |
