Final Effects Complete 5 Final Effects Complete 5 FxPlug is a set of 100+ visual effects filters re-designed for Apple's FxPlug plug-in architecture, providing seamless integration with Apple Final Cut Pro and Motion. FEC 5 FxPlug adds new support for 16 bit-color processing and takes full advantage of FxPlug. This results in a big performance boost, including unlimited RT filters and native Final Cut Pro transitions. The cool thing is that the same FEC filters are recognized by Motion and run within Motion's accelerated GPU environment for improved compatibility and flexible workflow. The heart of Final Effects Complete is its ability to generate full-featured, two and three-dimensional particle animations. Can you see yourself using ball action, explosions, distortions, jet trails, hair, liquid mercury distortions, spotlights, and color transitions? Yep, I thought so. Let's look at what FEC can do to something as simple as plain white text. Start by throwing a text generator slug in your timeline. Type any title in plain white text, then add a filter and be amazed. Wiggle Edges RT will stroke the letters with a natural, free style edge. The Burn Edges filter makes an interesting colored alpha erosion effect which works great on text. With the Hair filter, you can create all kinds of particle treatments for any alpha shape, even hair. Imagine making a video for a hair salon with text made out of hair…too cool. The 3-D Relief has options for color channels added to the bevels of the relief effect. When you stack the Hair and 3-D Relief filters, you get a funky but nice looking text, with mottled color over a faint hair texture. Want something different? Mr. Smoothie can take a black and white text and make it flow like molten lava. You can use FEC Ball Action to make a lot of different effects. I've always liked exploding text, and with this filter you can animate the Scatter parameter to break up the text into individual balls then add FEC Pixel Poly, and animate the Scatter Speed parameter to achieve a shattering effect. With version 5, the User Interface has new control groups, contextual controls, on-screen widgets, custom controls, and many other improvements. All parameter options are now readily available as native parameters without a need to open extra dialog windows. FEC 5 includes both eight and 16 bit filters for highest quality image processing, and all filters have been optimized from the original version to take full advantage of multi core and multi processor computing platforms. FEC 5 ships with over 800 pre-saved presets for quick new looks. Custom presets can be saved and shared between multiple workstations, or even emailed to other users.
I found these two sets of plug-ins to be of high quality, with good render times. In HD, some of the results just take your breath away. Nice job Boris.
