ASC Dedicates 2009 Heritage Award To Memory Of Bud Stone; Organization Accepting Entries In Annual Competition LOS ANGELES, September 9, 2008—The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) has dedicated the 2009 Heritage Award to the memory of Burton “Bud” Stone, president of Deluxe Laboratories for 18 years. The deadline for submissions in the 23rd annual competition for former or final year film school students is on November 1. In order to qualify, the applicant must have a nomination by the dean, department head or a faculty member, and submission of a student film. An ASC jury will judge, based on the artistry and skill of the narrative that relay the visions of the directors and performances by the actors. The Bud Stone Heritage Award will be presented to one or more students during the ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards on February 15, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
