New Hampshire: Ken Burns Defends PBS E-mail

Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns ─ speaking from his Walpole, New Hampshire offices at Florentine Films ─ defended the Public Broadcasting Service from Washington politicians who would seek to “defund” the service. He says that federal funding comes to one dollar ─ per person, per year ─ but despite that low figure, “Congress would reduce funding for the next two years by 56 percent.” After 30 years of filmmaking, Burns says his shows “could not have been produced anywhere else but PBS.”
