| Petra Korner to receive KODAK Vision Award for Cinematography |

Petra Korner will be honored when Women In Film celebrates the Crystal + Lucy Awards at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel on June 12. She will receive the KODAK Vision Award for Cinematography, which is presented to a woman who has made significant contributions to advancing the art form. "Petra Korner is a talented and dedicated artist," says Peter Boyce, regional business general manager, Americas, for KODAK's Entertainment Imaging Division. "She has earned this recognition by bringing passion and high standards to every project she photographs, and her accomplishments are an inspiration to other young filmmakers. We look forward to celebrating female filmmakers with Women in Film for many years to come." Korner recently completed her collaboration with director Wes Craven on the production of the thriller 25/8. She earned her first cinematography credit for the feature length film Mommy's House in 2007. Her notable credits include The Wackness, which won the 2008 Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, and Burgua dii Ebo (The Wind and the Water), which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the festival that same year. Her more recent credits include The Informers and Collectibles. Previous recipients of the Kodak Vision Award include Nancy Schreiber, ASC; Sandi Sissel, ASC; Ellen Kuras, ASC; Lisa Rinzler; Amy Vincent, ASC; Carolyn Chen; Tami Reiker, ASC; Maryse Alberti; Mandy Walker, ACS; and Uta Briesewitz among others. |
