Numb Robot Rocks Skechers Red Camera Campaign PDF Print E-mail
Written by Tim White

Hollywood, CA - While larger postproduction houses are finding it harder and harder to survive in this new slashed budgets "I have no money" economy, Hollywood, Calif. -based boutique post house, Numb Robot (www.numbrobot.com) is striving. Having a reputation of making low-budget projects look bigger and more professional, Numb Robot is the new post house prototype for this rapidly changing business.

This is why one of the largest shoe companies in the world, Skechers, came to the boutique to work on their latest international commercial campaign. Their new line of shoes, PUNKROSE, is aimed at the young tween demographic and they wanted something new and fresh. Working closely with award-winning Director of Photography Ricardo Jacques Galé (www.ricardogale.com) and Director Kasandra Baruch, the team decided to shoot on the revolutionary RED Camera System. Numb Robot has been working closely with the RED Camera and has perfected the sometimes confusing RED Camera Postproduction Workflow.  Editorial was conducted with Apple's Final Cut Pro and Color Graded in Color. They created a post- workflow that allowed them to color grade the RED raw files, allowing them to exploit every aspect of "you can do with the RED Raw r3d file." Next, Creative Director Dan Cregan took the final commercial into Nuke and composited dirt, exposure layers and grunge to achieve the final result.
